- The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)
- The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)
- City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK)
- The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyUHK)
- Yau Mathematical Sciences Center, Tsinghua University (YMSC)
- Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications (BIMSA)
- Shanghai Institute for Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences (SIMIS)
- Hetao Institute of Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences (HIMIS)
- Shenzhen Loop Area Institute (SLAI)
- Shing-Tung Yau Center of Southeast University (SEUYC)
- Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU)
- Zhongguancun Academy (ZGCA)
HKIFP’s core goals:
- Establish an agile framework to attract top international researchers for short-term intensive visits.
- Forge scientific partnerships, accelerate AI innovation, and develop global talent (with a focus on early-career researchers from developing nations).
- Highlight the region’s outstanding research environment.
Vision
- To build a world-renowned “HKSIAM International Fellowship Programme (HKIFP)” that annually attracts more than 200 world-class talents in applied mathematics and AI (“HKIFP Fellows”) for academic exchanges at host institutions.
- To promote cutting-edge research and collaboration in global applied mathematics, drive the development of applied mathematics in Hong Kong and Mainland China, and support talent cultivation and research capacity building in developing nations.
Mission
- Attract Global Talent: Identify and fund exceptional mathematicians and AI researchers worldwide to conduct targeted collaborative research at top institutions in Greater China.
- Accelerate AI Innovation: Stimulate frontier research in AI, machine learning, and their mathematical foundations through tailored collaboration platforms.
- Leverage a Powerful Network: Provide HKIFP Fellows with access to top supporting institutions in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen (in addition to Hong Kong-based hosts) to leverage collective strengths and unique research environments.
- Foster Global Knowledge Exchange: Act as a catalyst for new joint projects, create a dynamic exchange environment, and facilitate multi-directional idea flow between established and emerging research communities.
- Build Global Capacity: Offer dedicated opportunities for promising researchers from developing countries to learn from world-class experts, access premier facilities, and build international networks—cultivating the next generation of leaders in applied mathematics and AI in their home regions.
